We are all familiar with the phrase, “you are too young to know what love is.” I think that throughout our lives, we are all told this at least once, and usually by an older acquaintance. But, why is it that we are never told that we are old enough and we can and we do know what love is? Love is love, just as water is water and dirt is dirt. We all know what love is from the moment we are born to the day that we die. As an infant: love is being held ever so gently, in the arms of our mothers’ and fathers’ - knowing and feeling that we are safe. As a child: for some of us, love is playing with your siblings, your parents, your pets.. You form these emotional bonds with the living beings that you come into contact with and you become attached. You do this through the power of love. Of course, you may not fully understand that at this point in your life, but the love is inside of you and you feel it running through your veins because it is there and someday it will all make sense. As we grow older, we begin to be introduced to so many new things. We meet new people, we see new places, we learn new things and we fall in love with the world because we love life. We love that we are living and with love we feel alive. As we live on, we fall in love with EVERYTHING. But, the love that will stand out and above all other loves is the love you fall into forever. When you finally meet the person that completes you, you’ll know that you’ve never loved anything as much as the one you wish to have with you until death. It is never promised that you will find this love and it is never promised that if you do that you’ll be lucky enough to keep it. But, you’ll never experience anything like it; this love is unique. If you ever do find it, appreciate it.. Because it is so unbelievably pleasant to find that bond that is so strong that you never wish to be without that person. No matter what, you are willing to undergo whatever you have to, to keep them in your life. When they make mistakes, it doesn’t matter how severe, you will see past them. You will accept them for who they are and how they are and they will do the same for you.
